BrainLab Ottawa is preregistered with major insurance companies, allowing you to take full advantage of your extended health benefits.
When Booking an Appointment
If the client fails to cancel the appointment within 24 hours of the appointment, the client will be charged a late cancellation fee of 75% of the cost of the clinician’s hourly fee.
The appointment cost must be paid by the client at the end of the appointment — these costs can be billed directly to a client’s health insurance company or be paid via a debit or credit card.
Funding Resources
If you do not have extended health benefits and are seeking financial assistance for costs related to mental health services, there are many resources available that you may qualify for. Here are some key funding options in Ontario:
Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
ODSP may provide financial assistance to eligible individuals to help cover the costs of psychological services in a private setting. To access this support, individuals can apply for the Disability-Related Employment Supports (DRES) or the Employment Supports program, both of which are part of ODSP.
.
AccessOAP
AccessOAP, the Ontario Autism Program’s Independent Intake Organization, supports everyone registered in the Ontario Autism Program by providing care coordinators to help understand service options and access needs-based services and supports in the community.
Ontario Autism Program (OAP)
The Ontario Autism Program provides various services and supports for children and youth on the autism spectrum until the age of 18. Families can access foundational family services, caregiver-mediated early years programs, core clinical services, entry to school programs, and urgent response services through the OAP.
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
Veterans may receive funding for psychological assessment and therapy through VAC.
Interim One-Time Funding and Childhood Budgets
Children and youth who registered in the Ontario Autism Program before April 2021 may be eligible for interim one-time funding and childhood budgets to cover expenses related to the program.
Passport Program
A program funded by the Ontario Government that provides funding for services for those with a developmental disability over the age of 18.
Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program
This program, managed by Indigenous Services Canada, provides eligible First Nations and Inuit clients with coverage for a range of medically necessary health benefits, including mental health counselling.
